Toronto Raptors Forward Scottie Barnes Got Injured During the Game Against the New York Knicks

Toronto Raptors Forward Scottie Barnes left the court with a sprained right ankle in the third quarter of the Raptors’ Monday night game against the New York Knicks, which they lost 113-108.

Barnes was assisted off the court by teammates and hopped to the locker room, as he was unable to bear weight on his right foot. Barnes got injured when he collided with Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns while attempting to stop a shot in front of the rim.

Barnes scored 15 points in 23 minutes before leaving the game midway. Barnes entered Monday’s game with career highs of 21 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 7.8 assists.

Following the game, Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic stated that early X-rays of Barnes’ foot revealed no fracture.

Injuries have always been an issue for the Raptors’ forward this season so far. Barnes missed 11 games earlier this season due to a right orbital fracture and has been wearing protective glasses since his return.

Barnes, the 2022 NBA Rookie of the Year and a first-time All-Star last season, agreed to a contract deal this summer worth up to $270 million if he fulfills supermax conditions.
