Throughout the annals of their franchise, the Chicago Bulls have created many records. Among the most crucial are:

  • Most Wins in a Season: The Bulls completed the 1995-96 season with an NBA-record 72-10 regular-season record. This remained the best record in the history of the NBA until the Golden State Warriors had a 73-9 record in 2015-16. Still, the Bulls are the only team that has won over 70 games and won the championship that same year.
  • The Bulls have won six championships in total. All of them came in the 1990s with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in their roster.
  • Appearance in Playoffs: The Bull has gained entrance to the NBA playoffs a tremendous 36 times, one of the highest among all teams in the NBA.
  • Scoring records: Michael Jordan tops the list for the all-time Bulls’ leading scorer per game. His 69-point score against Cleveland Cavaliers came in the year 1990.
  • Success Rate: The Bulls became very successful during the 1990s, and had one of the best winning percentages in NBA history.

Background: The Birth of the Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls were established in 1966 on January 16, and became a new member of the NBA. The team’s first owner-general manager, Dick Klein, was motivated to create this franchise after two other NBA teams-the Stags and the Packers/Zephyrs-had failed to make it in the Chicago area.

The difference the Bulls made was in their first season, making them the first-ever expansion team in the league to reach the playoffs. The opening years were not fruitful for this young franchise, a solid foundation was laid for the coming seasons.

Chicago Bulls Logo and Jersey Evolution

The famous Chicago Bulls logo shows a strong Red Bull with horns and has stayed the same since it was created. Theodore W. Drake designed the logo, which became known for the team’s strength and willpower. The Chicago Bulls jersey has not changed much over time, showing that the team values tradition, with red, black, and white as the main colors.

His approach to coaching centers on player development and strong defense,  two pivotal components of the current team. With Donovan, this team gets better every season, and the future seems bright as long as the team keeps developing its youngsters.
