A win by LeBron made this victory the most in holiday games by any player at the expen`se of his former colleague Dwyane Wade when he topped the list, and LeBron now has the record at 11 wins and 8 losses in all Christmas games, which extends his legacy in holiday games.
LeBron James and Steph Curry made the Christmas Day game an exciting finish as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 115-113 at Chase Center. The Lakers won the game with Austin Reaves’ layup five seconds before the end. This win pushed the Lakers’ record to 17-13 for the season. The Warriors, meanwhile, suffered their second consecutive loss and have only three wins in their last 14 games.
Austin Reaves surprised the fans of the Warriors by scoring a winning layup when there was only one second remaining to show on the clock. In the game, the Lakers topped the Warriors 115-113. Austin Reaves produced triple-doubles by scoring 26 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while making 10 assists. LeBron James scored 31 points while recording four rebounds and 10 assists.
Stephen Curry performed great, scoring 38 points and six assists. But the best moment was in the fourth quarter, where he had 17 points. Included in that were two essential 3-pointers he hit in the last 13 seconds, which tied the game at 113. The Lakers did a good job by not giving LeBron James easy opportunities in the final stretch, but Austin Reaves would end up being the reason for his team’s winning end.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors 25 December 2024 Game Summary
Dennis Schröder helped the Golden State Warriors with two early 3-point shots in the first quarter. Andrew Wiggins scored 10 points and Steph Curry five. Golden State took a seven-point lead, but the LA Lakers worked hard and stayed close in the game.
LeBron James had eight points for the Lakers. Anthony Davis had a hard time and didn’t score against Trayce Jackson-Davis. In the middle of the period, Davis injured his ankle and left the game at 4:48. After the first quarter, the game was tied at 23.
Anthony Davis was listed as questionable to return because of a sprained left ankle, the Lakers had a problem. Nevertheless, the team came together and improved its performance to take a nine-point lead at one point in the game. The Warriors were not willing to let the Lakers dampen their Christmas spirit; they fought back to remain in the game.
Wiggins played a great game while Curry scored 11 points in the second quarter. At halftime, the Lakers led by a slim margin of 55-52, with LeBron James being the top scorer with 19 points.
The Golden State Warriors were unable to regain their normal offensive rhythm in the third quarter, which resulted in a 29-24 LA Lakers outscore. The Lakers’ strong defense stopped the Warriors from mounting a successful comeback and retaking the lead.
At the final stretch of the game, Austin Reaves and Max Christie had taken on the role of scoring as Anthony Davis did not play. They proved to be excellent players and saw that the Lakers maintained a strong lead. But the Warriors never surrendered, and it went into under three minutes for the clock.
Steph Curry for the Golden State Warriors brought it close at 113-113 as it closed off with less than eight seconds left. The Lakers pulled the timeout to think of ways, but LeBron James tried so hard to have an open ball since Draymond Green was all around, playing tight defense.
At the end of the game, Reaves received possession of the ball while the Lakers’ Andrew Wiggins was guarding him closely. Reaves successfully moved beyond Wiggins and made the crucial layup that determined that the Lakers won 115-113. In this last-gasp attempt by the Lakers, Curry heaved a long shot as time almost ran out, but hit only the rim.
