The Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley suffered a left ankle sprain in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat. However, the Cavaliers is confident that the injury isn’t going to be a persistent or long-term problem.
Mobley started the game for the Cavaliers against the Heat, but just after 10 minutes of the start, coach Kenny Atkinson saw him play through the sprain briefly, and decided the forward couldn’t keep going.
At halftime, the Cavaliers declared that Evan Mobley would miss the second half. The Cavaliers substituted Georges Niang for Mobley to continue the game. Before being substituted, Mobley scored 4 points in 12 minutes of the first half.
Mobley entered the game against the Heat with a career-high 41-point performance at Charlotte on Saturday and a career-best average of 18.9 points this season.
Cleveland will host Washington on Friday night, their lone game in the upcoming week, which gives the much-needed break to Evan Mobley to recover from his ankle sprain and join the team.
