The NBA Cup was known as the In-Season Tournament and now enters its second year of establishing itself as an excellent event for the NBA. As the competition continues to become more woven into the calendar, the fans, and players are getting accustomed to how it can affect the rest of the season.
The Milwaukee Bucks won an important game on Tuesday by taking down OKC Thunder 100-80 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With this win, they have secured the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup and earned a check of $500,000 for each player. After all the struggles at the start of the season, the win is much more important and proves that the Bucks are strong and come out from the bad run.
Having sent the Orlando Magic and then the Atlanta Hawks packing in the playoffs, the Bucks went on to win the NBA Cup Finals with an excellent second half against the Western Conference’s best team.
For the 2023-24 season, teams have been distributed into five pots in each conference according to the previous regular season’s standings. Teams ranked within the top three positions go into Pot 1 while those ranked from fourth up to sixth rank go into Pot 2. The ranking proceeds sequentially down to the last Pot 5 which encompasses teams with the lowest standings or thirteenth position through the fifteenth.
