In the NBA “SG” stands for Shooting Guard, which is one of the five positions on a basketball team. The shooting guard is typically responsible for scoring points by shooting from long range (especially three-pointers), driving to the basket, and creating opportunities on offense. They are usually good shooters and often have strong defensive skills as well.
